On Friday June 27th CFG helped co-sponsor a show by iconic band Berlin. (www.berlinpage.com) Lead singer Terri Nunn was engaging and in great voice. She was in the crowd by their third song, ‘No more words’ and though the tables reached almost all the way to the stage, the crowd rose to its collective feet and enjoyed the sensuous rock sounds. This was not a kitschy novelty act. This was a truly joyful performance by artists who were happy to be there. Though Terri Nunn is the sole original band member, it mattered little to those in attendance. The new musicians were pros; music veterans in their own right, and in top form, giving the sound a new energy. The band played for about an hour and a half with a set-list that encompassed their entire multi-decade career. They branched out and paired down the sound with a short acoustic set, and slipped a few well chosen cover songs in, including “Ordinary World” by fellow ‘80’s icons, Duran Duran, which Nunn dedicated to her recently deceased father. They also added “The Dope Show” by Marilyn Manson. They were both faithful renditions of the hit songs but Terri Nunn’s powerful voice made them her own. The show was a celebration of great music and a great cause, http://www.theunforgettables.com . Please follow the link for information and to make your own donation to this worthy charity. The Unforgettables is a charity that assists families who’ve recently lost a member and can’t afford a dignified and respectful burial. The charity aspect of the show along with the positive vibes of the music galvanized the crowd into a “giving frenzy”. At the end of the event our company president Andy Castro placed the winning bid in a spirited auction for an autographed guitar from Terri Nunn. |
