Time travel.  If you could, would you?  If it was possible, what would you do and where would you go?

Einstein proved that it could be done according to his theory of relativity.  Imagine a world where the scientists worked out the kinks and you could actually travel through time.  Would you visit yourself?  I wouldn’t do that if I were you.  You could end up causing some real trouble.  We’ve seen how that works out in Hollywood.

What would you say if I told you that I knew how to time travel?  Rather, I know how to read the writing on the wall, and the good news?  No pesky scientists around to spoil our fun.

Imagine being able to get what I like to call “the early edition”, which is to say, being able to open a newspaper today from 1995 and be able to buy stocks at that rate!  I have 5 children, and on the day of their birth I kept the paper so that I’d be able to show them where the market was on the day they were born.  Going over those newspapers with my children, I began to think about being able to utilize the stock rates from the past, today.

Imagine being able to go back and buy stock in its infancy and say for instance, buy Netflix at 12 cents a share or buy Berkshire Hathaway stock at $5.00 a share.  That would be stratospheric considering that in 2006 Berkshire Hathaway reached $100,000.00 a share.  That’s right!  It’s currently trading at over $92,000 a share.  Imagine being able to buy the once mighty Bank of America stock at under $10.  Over the last year it’s fluctuated between $46.00 and $7.00

Well now you can do exactly that!  There are amazing options our there right now.

Here’s another example of an interesting stock.  Sirius XM.  Now I’m not saying it will ever reach it’s former heights, nor do I think that this is a $20 or even a $10 stock.  But considering where it’s at now, you don’t have to do too well to beat the market.  Sirius XM finished 2008 with over 19 million subscribers and the only company they keep at that level is Comcast and the Dish Network.  Not much besides that.  Cynics say that Smartphones and Internet radio will chip away at the value of Sirius XM, but that technology has been around for years and satellite radio continues to grow.

The world of real estate is a great example of rates “time traveling” back to where they were years ago.  If you have the means, buy property.

In the business world they use words like ‘synergy’ and motivational phrases like ‘low hanging fruit’.  In this case it’s almost the literal truth.  Houses that were going for $750,000 a year and a half ago are going for close to half that price.

Half.

Hard to believe, isn’t it?  Putting your money in a property like that right now is better than a savings account.  You can buy stocks and properties at a price they held over 10 years ago.  Surely our financial world will improve, and it’s always necessary to do your research however, we’re living in rare times right now.  This is the ultimate buyers market.

Missing the boat now will break your heart later.  Don’t let the good ones get away.

You won’t be able to say you weren’t warned.
